Laboratory-grade salinity measurement in a field-deployable instrument

The OPTIMARE Precision Salinometer measures the practical salinity of water samples using the conductivity ratio method defined in the Practical Salinity Scale 1978 (PSS-78). A thermostatted measurement cell maintains temperature stability to ±0.001 °C, enabling accuracy of ±0.002 PSU — equivalent to laboratory bench instruments. The OPS is calibrated against IAPSO Standard Seawater, ensuring traceability to international oceanographic standards. Its compact design makes it suitable for shipboard use, field stations, and laboratory environments. The OPS is used by oceanographic research institutes, hydrographic offices, and environmental monitoring agencies worldwide.
